Practise yoga in the comfort and safety of your own home! Join me and other yogis online for an hour of invigorating and relaxing yoga, suitable for all abilities and skill levels. We’ll start the classes with a thorough warm up, flow through a series of standing, sitting and lying down postures and finish up with breathing exercises, chanting and of course savasana!

About

Chitra is an award winning London based YMCAfit level 3 certified yoga instructor teaching both mat and chair yoga. Her main motivation is to help people of all ages enjoy the invigorating feeling in their bodies that comes from performing yoga asanas.

Chitra was awarded the prize of "Best Female Yoga Professional UK" by The Nehru Centre and Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.

She is also the recipient of the Indic Academy Scholarship for Vedic Chanting and completed a Veda Studies course under the guidance of Smt. Shantala Sriramaiah ji.

In each class, Chitra endeavours to lead you on a journey of both body and mind - as you stretch and hold a posture, and your attention turns within, you start to feel the gratitude for your human body and the breath that powers it. Hopefully the enjoyment, increased flexibility and feeling of wellness will motivate you to keep practising.

Chitra has trained with gurus in India, and is experienced in working with those who have special needs, be it dementia, Parkinson’s or those on the Autistic spectrum. She's available for 1:1 classes and can work to suit any time zone you are in.

As well as being a yoga teacher, Chitra is a mum, a high school A-level maths teacher, a vegan chef and a physics graduate. Turmeric Yoga is Chitra's initiative to celebrate the power of yoga and plant-based cuisine for promoting health and well being.
